School Leadership

Beth has more than 30 years’ experience in education and has been a member of the ISA Tianhe founding team since 2016. Alongside leading ISA Tianhe, she provides strategic educational leadership for Early Years and Primary across ISA International Education Group and serves as Superintendent of Primary School and Kindergarten at ISA Wuhan. She has worked in Early Years and Primary schools in the UK and Europe, as well as British secondary schools offering IGCSE and A-Level programmes in Russia.
Beth holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Exeter, a Postgraduate Diploma in Literature and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She has undertaken further training in pedagogical leadership and holds IB Leadership certificates. She is also a TYCEMC Teacher Trainer and an adviser to the International Scholastic Trust in Singapore.
As the mother of three bilingual daughters who attended Cambridge, Goldsmiths and LAMDA, Beth is a strong advocate for multilingualism, academic ambition and the joy of learning.

Sylvia joined ISA Tianhe in 2016 and is a long-standing member of the School Leadership Team. As Operations Director, she oversees the school’s day-to-day operations and supports the effective delivery of its educational programmes.
Her extensive responsibilities have included project development, research into international education, procurement, co-curricular provision, the ISA Charity Fund and operational management. This broad experience has given her a strong understanding of international school operations and the practical requirements of a successful learning environment.
Sylvia is deeply committed to ISA Tianhe’s mission and community. Her leadership ensures that the school remains safe, orderly, welcoming and well organised, allowing teachers to focus on teaching and students to flourish.

Fannie graduated from Southwest University with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature Education. She has 16 years’ experience in Chinese teaching and class management, including 12 years teaching Chinese in international schools.
Before joining ISA Tianhe in 2016, Fannie served as a subject leader and Head of Teaching. She received awards recognising her work as a teacher, educator and homeroom teacher, and has published numerous papers in professional education journals.
As Chinese Language Coordinator, Fannie leads the continued development of Chinese teaching at ISA Tianhe. She has completed IB professional development, regularly participates in international education seminars and has guided students to success in a range of Chinese language competitions.

Debbie has more than 12 years’ experience in international education, having worked in Scotland, Russia, Thailand and Colombia. She graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA (Hons) in Professional Primary Education, specialising in Modern Languages.
Throughout her career, Debbie has taught across Key Stages 1 and 2 and held a range of subject and leadership responsibilities, including Primary English Coordinator. Her international experience has given her a broad understanding of different school communities and approaches to teaching and learning.
As Assistant Principal of Primary and PYP Coordinator, Debbie supports curriculum development, teaching quality and the implementation of the IB Primary Years Programme across the Primary School.

Melanie has more than 15 years’ experience in education and has taught in both Early Years and Primary settings in South Africa and China. She holds an Honours degree in Education, with a particular focus on Foundation Phase education.
Throughout her career, Melanie has worked as a homeroom teacher and held a range of leadership positions. Her extensive knowledge of early childhood development informs her calm, purposeful and responsive approach to teaching and leadership.
As Assistant Principal of Early Years and Assistant PYP Coordinator, Melanie leads the development of high-quality Early Years provision at ISA Tianhe. She is committed to creating an engaging and respectful environment in which young children develop confidence, independence and strong foundations for future learning.
