Orientation Day

As summer draws to a close, a new chapter begins. On 22 August, the ISA Tianhe campus was filled with warmth as our Orientation Day officially commenced amid joy and laughter. This heartfelt, ceremonial gathering fosters community integration. Every detail of the experience has been thoughtfully curated by the school, enabling children and parents to immerse themselves in our genuine campus atmosphere and become familiar with our diverse international‑learning environment in advance. It lays solid foundations and builds momentum for each child’s upcoming learning and life journey at ISA Tianhe.

In the welcome address, Ms. Beth Jones, the Head of School, explained to new families how a supportive yet challenging IB international school community can positively shape a child’s development. She outlined ISA Tianhe’s core educational philosophy, underscoring the importance of home-school collaboration and the school’s commitment to embedding child safeguarding into daily practice. Following a detailed introduction to the year ahead, she introduced each year group’s homeroom teachers—leaving parents with a clearer sense of the school’s vision and greater confidence in the journey ahead.

Following the welcome speech, students and parents proceeded to classrooms for face-to-face meetings with teachers. The homeroom teachers detailed the curriculum and daily schedule and patiently addressed various questions from the new families. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the children also had the opportunity to meet their new teachers and classmates, taking their first steps toward integrating into school life.
致辞结束后，学生与家长共同进入教室，与各班教师进行了面对面的深入交流。主班教师为家长们详尽阐释了课程体系与每日作息安排，耐心解答了新生家庭的诸多疑问，有效消除了他们的顾虑。孩子们亦在轻松愉悦的氛围中，初步结识了新老师与新同学，顺利迈出了融入校园生活的第一步。

After familiarising themselves with their new classrooms, the children took part in the exclusive house-allocation ceremony organised for the welcome event. Designed with a fun “magic” theme, the ceremony assigned every child to their dedicated house, creating a wonderfully immersive and ceremonial atmosphere. In addition, the school’s various departments and ISA International Academy jointly launched a one-stop consultation service, allowing new families to efficiently access detailed information about campus facilities and services. The consultation booths covered a comprehensive range of key services, including co-curricular programmes, uniform collection, school bus provision, on-site medical support, financial administration and home-school system registration, fully showcasing the diverse richness of campus life. Professional staff were available at every booth to provide patient and detailed guidance, answering all enquiries and leaving both parents and students filled with excitement and confidence for the new school year ahead.
