World Book Day was celebrated on the 23rd of April, and ISA Tianhe held the 7th annual Book Week. Book Week was themed “Escape to Everywhere” and featured a series of diverse activities that brought the atmosphere of reading to every corner of the campus. We firmly believe that reading has a great impact on children’s development and stimulates their creativity and imagination. Through a series of various and interesting activities, we aim to cultivate the reading habit and interest of students.
4月23日是世界读书日,爱莎天河也在这周举办了第七届读书周系列活动。今年的读书周以“在阅读中看见更大的世界”为主题,开展了一系列多元化的活动,让校园的每个角落都弥漫着阅读的氛围。我们坚信阅读对孩子的成长具有深远的影响,能够激发他们的创造力和想象力。通过一系列丰富多彩且有趣的活动,我们旨在培养学生的阅读习惯和兴趣。

Character Dressup
角色装扮日
On Friday, students and teachers came into the school dressed as their favourite book characters, and they shared their favourite books and characters.
在周五,学生和老师都装扮成自己喜爱的书中角色走进校园里,他们相互交流、分享自己喜欢的书籍及书中角色。
Door Decoration
课室门装饰
Students and teachers got creative and decorated their classroom doors like their favourite stories.
学生和老师们共同发挥创意,把课室门装饰成他们喜欢的故事的样子。

Bookmark Design
书签设计
Before the start of Book Week, our Librarian, Ms Yoyo, organised a bookmark design competition to start the event. Students used their imagination and creativity to design their bookmarks, and each class selected the “most popular” bookmark. The “most popular” bookmark was then printed as an actual bookmark that community members could share with their families and friends.
在读书周开始前,图书馆馆长Ms. Yoyo组织了一场书签设计大赛,为活动进行预热。学生们发挥想象力和创造力设计出一个属于自己的书签,然后由每个班级评选出最受欢迎的设计,并进行印刷制作成书签,与社区成员分享。

Author Visit

During Book Week, we had the honour of inviting Mr. Chris White to speak at our school. Mr. Chris White shared his works with the students, conducted interactive, improvisation and drawing sessions with teachers and students. This series of activities allowed the students to experience the author’s charisma from a close distance, and inspired their passion for reading and creativity.
读书周期间,我们有幸邀请到知名作家Chris White先生到校演讲。Chris White先生不仅与学生们分享了他的作品,还在现场与师生进行了互动、即兴创作、绘画课程。这一系列的活动,不仅让学生们近距离感受到了作家的魅力,也激发了他们对阅读和创作的热情。

Guangzhou Library Field Trip

To enrich the students’ experience, the school organised a field trip to the Guangzhou Library to experience the Reading Month programme.
为了让学生们有更丰富的体验,学校组织学生前往广州图书馆体验读书月活动。

Book Fair

A book fair was set up on campus. Students selected and purchased their favourite books with friends, which increased their book collection.
在书展互动中,学生们可以与朋友们一起挑选及购买自己喜欢的书籍,丰富自己的藏书量。

Buddy Reading

Buddy Reading with an Early Years class and a Primary class forming Buddy groups. Buddy Reading created a relaxed reading atmosphere for the children as they gathered in the classroom or library to read together and have fun.
伙伴阅读活动,由一个幼儿园的班级和小学的班级组成伙伴小组。伙伴阅读活动给孩子们营造一种轻松的阅读氛围,他们聚集在课室或图书馆,小伙伴们共同阅读,可以享受阅读带来的乐趣。

Through Book Week, we are committed to fostering the comprehensive development of students under the IB holistic education framework. We encourage students to delve into reading, to acquire knowledge, to stimulate their imagination and creativity. A range of fun and engaging activities have been organized to make reading enjoyable for them, thereby cultivating their reading habits and interests. These activities improve their reading skills and comprehension, enhance their teamwork and communication abilities.
通过读书周系列活动,我们致力于培养孩子们在IB全人教育框架下的全面发展。我们鼓励孩子们深入阅读,不仅是为了增长知识,更是为了激发他们的想象力和创造力。一系列富有趣味性的活动,让孩子们在阅读的过程中感受到乐趣。这些活动不仅提高了孩子们的阅读能力和理解力,还锻炼了他们的团队合作和沟通技巧。
We believe that, as emphasised in the theme ” Escape to Everywhere”, through reading, students are able to broaden their horizons and gain a deeper understanding of the world’s vastness and diversity. They will be able to achieve balanced academic, emotional, social and physical development, and become lifelong learners with a global perspective and cross-cultural understanding, who will continue to explore, learn and grow, contributing to the world of the future.
